In sectors like food & beverage, chemicals, building materials, new energy materials, paper, and e-commerce, pallet shipments often involve two critical processes: side wrapping and strapping. Traditionally, these were handled separately, with pallets moved manually or via conveyor between stations. This increases handling time, reduces workflow consistency, and elevates labor requirements. Integrating both processes into a single workstation with an automatic stretch & strapping machine enhances continuity, efficiency, and stability.

Machine Structure: Coordinated Wrapping and Strapping
The wrapping machine comprises a rotating wrapping arm, powered pre-stretch film carriage, penetrative strapping unit, optional top press module, conveyor interface, and PLC control system.
Upon pallet entry, the system detects its position and height. Wrapping begins first, using the pre-stretch carriage to ensure tight film coverage. The machine then automatically moves to the strapping step, with the penetrative strap threading under the pallet to securely bind load and pallet together. Completing both processes at a single station reduces handling and maintains production rhythm.
Wrapping System: Pre-Stretch Film for Consistent Tension
The pre-stretch system ensures uniform tension, minimizing film usage. Programs allow top reinforcement, bottom loops, and multi-layer wrapping to accommodate different load types. The film carriage moves via frequency-controlled drive, producing even, stable layers. Operators can adjust tension, layer count, and reinforcement patterns to suit cartons, bags, barrels, and other load types.
Strapping System: Penetrative Design for Load Stability
The penetrative strapping unit feeds straps under the pallet, binding it vertically to the load. PP or PET straps can be used depending on load weight. Strap tension is adjustable to suit varying weights, transport, and pallet structures. Heat-welded joints ensure secure and durable connections, minimizing displacement during handling, transport, and stacking.
Intelligent Operation: Standardized Workflow
PLC control with HMI allows automatic, manual, and maintenance modes. Features include auto height detection, film clamp & cut, multiple strapping patterns (linear or cross), self-diagnosis, alarm notifications, independent or line-connected operation. Programming ensures clear sequence between wrapping and strapping, accommodating different pallet sizes and output rates, improving packaging consistency.
Application Example
A food manufacturer faced inconsistent packaging due to separate wrapping and strapping stations. After adopting the integrated machine, the company achieved continuous automated operation, consistent packaging appearance, optimized film and strap usage, reduced labor, and improved management clarity.
Integrated Pallet Packaging for Efficiency
The automatic stretch & strapping machine consolidates key processes, reducing handling, increasing efficiency, and maintaining load stability. As supply chain operations accelerate, this technology provides consistent, reliable packaging solutions across industries.
